Establishing Your Membership
HVCU membership helps you save, borrow, and manage your finances with sensibility. We put in effort to ensure that you are well informed so that we can deliver an exceptional banking experience. If you live, work, worship, volunteer, or attend school in Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Greene, Orange, Putnam, Rensselaer, Rockland, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, or Westchester Counties, you are eligible to join the Hudson Valley Credit Union.

Please note: If you are opening a Teen Checking Account or College Savings Account for a minor who is not already an HVCU member, select No when answering the question that asks if you are currently a member.

to Open a Personal Account
You will need one of the following ID Types to open a personal account online:
- State Driver's License
- Passport
- Military ID
- Permanent Resident Card (I-551)
- Employee Authorization Card (I-766)
Do you currently have a Hudson Valley Credit Union Account?
Please note: You may open accounts with Hudson Valley Credit Union if you live, work, worship, volunteer or attend school in Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Greene, Orange, Putnam, Rensselaer, Rockland, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, or Westchester County. If you are a joint member on other HVCU member accounts and do not have any primary accounts, please select No.
Business Accounts
To open a new business account, please complete our contact form. A representative will reach out to you and assist with opening your account. If you are an existing business member and would like to open an additional account, please schedule an appointment at a branch near you.
Do you currently have a Hudson Valley Credit Union Account?
New Members: Businesses located in, businesses who conduct the majority of their business within, and business owners who live, work, worship, attend school, or volunteer in HVCU’s 12-county field of membership are eligible for business accounts. To establish membership and open an account, please complete our contact form and a representative will reach out to you.
Our 12-county field of membership includes Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Greene, Orange, Putnam, Rensselaer, Rockland, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, and Westchester Counties.
Existing Members: If you’re an existing member, please schedule an appointment at a branch that is convenient for you.

to Open a Business Account
You'll need the following documentation to open a business account:
- Your Social Security Number or Business Tax ID
- Legal business name and DBA (“doing business as”) name
- Date of establishment
- Personal identification, such as a Driver’s License or passport
- Certificate of assumed name
- Business formation documents
- Ownership agreements
