Applications are being accepted from Tuesday, January 2, 2025, through Friday, January 31, 2025, for Hudson Valley Credit Union’s 2025 Board of Directors’ Election. Our Board members are volunteers elected by the credit union membership and play a vital role in governing the credit union in alignment with our Purpose, Impact, and Core Values.
We are seeking highly qualified candidates who demonstrate exceptional governance and leadership capabilities, visionary and strategic thinking, and strong fiduciary oversight. Ideal candidates are independent thinkers with the ability to collaborate effectively and build consensus within a diverse group.
While a degree in finance is not required, candidates must possess the ability to read and understand financial statements, evaluate organizational performance from a strategic point of view and demonstrate a keen understanding of risk management. As a $7 billion dollar credit union, engagement, curiosity, and a commitment to the highest ethical standards are essential attributes for this role. Further, at Hudson Valley Credit Union, we recognize that diversity strengthens our organization. Board members dedicate an average of 10-15 hours per month which includes attending monthly Board and committee meetings.
